BREAD STICKS

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 1/4 cups Bread flour
  • 4 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoons Dry milk powder
  • 1/4 cup Butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • or 2 teaspoons Rapid Rise Yeast
  • GLAZE
  • 1 large Egg, beaten
  • 4 teaspoons Water
  • Coarse salt, optional
  • or Garlic powder, optional
  • or Sesame Seeds, optional
  • or Poppy Seeds, optional
  • 1. Place first 8 ingredients in bread pan according to manufacturers suggestion. Select Dough cycle.

    2. When cycle is complete, put dough on a lightly floured board. Divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an 8-10 inch stick. Place each stick on a greased baking sheet. Cover with towel and let rise for 30 minutes.

    3. Preheat oven to 400°. Beat together egg and water. Brush generously over each stick. Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, sesame seeds, poppy seeds or whatever topping you desire.

    4. Bake at 400° for 10-15 minutes.
