Beef, Main Dishes, Pork Mutton Veal

MEAT PIES

  • 1 1/2 pounds Hamburger meat
  • 1 1/2 pounds Ground Pork
  • 2 large Onions, chopped
  • 2 cups Water
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sage, dried
  • Bread crumbs
  • Prepared Pie Crusts
  • 1. In a dutch oven, mix hamburger, pork and onion. Cook and stir until all meat is loose and thoroughly cooked. Do not drain pan.

    2. Turn off heat and add water, salt, pepper and sage. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Add bread crumbs a little at a time while stirring. Keep adding until mixture is thick and can be easily shaped liked meatballs.

    3. Place 1 pie crust in pie pan and fill with meat mixture. Top with another crust. Bake at 425° until crust is brown, approximately 45 minutes.

    Makes 2 large or 3 small pies
