CUT OUT CHOCOLATE COOKIES

  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1. In a large mixer bowl cream butter, sugar, egg and vanilla until light and fluffy.

    2.Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, blending well. Chill dough about 1 hour or until firm enough to roll.

    3. Heat oven to 325°. On a lightly floured board, roll small portion of dough at a time to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters; place on ungreased cookie sheets.

    4. Bake for 5-7 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched lightly. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely. Frost with desired glaze or frosting.

    Makes approximately 3 dozen cookies
