FRESH APPLE BREAD

  • 4 cups Apples, diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups Walnuts, chopped
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 3/4 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°degrees. Grease and flour two standard-sized loaf pans.

    2. Whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, spices, salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a large mixing bowl. Stir in flour just until it is evenly mixed. Add apples and walnuts. Stir together until well blended.

    3. Pour into prepared loaf pans and bake for 55 to 65 minutes, until center is set.

    Tips from our test kitchen:

    Rome, Gala and McIntosh are excellent apple varieties to use in this bread. For additional spice, add a teaspoon of ground nutmeg.
