KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE

  • 3 cups Flour, all-purpose
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Butter
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 3/4 Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Water
  • 1. Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour one 10 inch Bundt pan.

    2. Blend together on low speed of an electric mixer first 9 ingredients. Beat for 3 minutesat medium speed. Pour into prepared pan.

    3. Bake at 325° for 60 minutes.

    4. In a saucepan combine last 4 ingredients. Cook over medium heat until fully melted and combined. Do not boil. Prick holes in the still warm, baked cake. Slowly pour sauce over cake. Let cake cool before removing from pan.
