GOOEY BUTTER CAKE

  • 4 Eggs, divided
  • 1 package Dun Hines Butter Golden Cake Mix
  • 1 stick Butter or margarine, melted
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 3 cups Powdered sugar
  • Preheat oven to 375°. Grease and flour a 13 by 9 inch baking pan. Beat two eggs on medium speed until well-mixed. Add cake mix and butter and beat until smooth; batter will be stiff. Spread batter into prepared pan. Beat 2 eggs on medium until well mixed. Add cream cheese and vanilla and blend. Gradually add 3 cups powdered sugar, mixing well. Pour over batter in pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out dry, 40 - 50 minutes. Sprinkle cake with powdered sugar while still warm. Serve chilled or let sit at room temperature for 1 hour.
