Cakes and Frostings
BANANA CAKE
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and 1/2 t salt. Add banana, buttermilk, shortening, eggs, and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed till combined. Beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
Pour batter into greased bundt pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 30-35 minutes or till a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on racks for 10 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool on racks. Serves 12.
