Cakes and Frostings
WHITE FRUIT CAKE
Cream butter and sugar; add well beaten eggs. Chop nuts and fruits. Sift flour and baking powder together and add to butter and egg mixture. Add fruits, nuts, and flavorings. Mix well, using hands. Grease pan well, and flour. Pour in batter. Put in cold oven and bake for 30 minutes at 300° then at 250° for 2-1/2 hours. Check the cake, for it may not take as long to bake depending on your stove. Test with toothpick. Makes about 5 lbs.
