Georgetown Lime Cookies

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Lime zest finely grated
  • 3 tablespoons Lime juice, (fresh)
  • 1/3 cup Sugar mixed with
  • 1/4 teaspoon each Cinnamon and nutmeg
  • Preheat oven at 350°.

    In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon; set aside. In large bowl beat butter, sugar and lime zest untillight and fulffy. Gradually beat in lime juice., Stir in flour mixture 1/2 at atime, blending well after each addition.

    Place sugar-spice mixture in a small bowl. Roll rounded teapoons of dough into1 inch balls. Roll balls in sugar-spicemixute. Arrange 1 inch apart on greasedcookie sheet. Use decorative cookie stamp or bottom of a glass to flatten ballsslightly.

    Bake for 13 to 16 minutes or until deep golden brown on bottom. Cool on racks
