Every Man's Favorite Dish

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme, dried
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 small Onion
  • 1 small Tomato paste
  • 1 cup Wine, dry
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1 can Sour Kraut
  • 5 medium Potatos, Mashed
  • Butter a casserole dish.

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    In a large skillet, saute the onion, garlic and ground beef until brown and dry.

    Add the tomato paste, thyme, wine salt ad pepper and let simmer for 15 minutes.

    Dissolve the cornstarch in somemore wine and add to meat.

    Let simmer until it thickens.

    In the casserole dish,put a layer of mashed potatoes, half ofthe meat mixture and the sour kraut.

    Cover with the rest of the meat and mashedpotatoes.

    Bake until hot and bubble, about 20 minutes.
