Finnish Almond Cookies

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg, white beaten slightly
  • 2 oz pkg Slivered almonds
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 2 cups Flour
  • preheat oven to 350°.

    Mix butter, almond and sugar - add flour gradually.

    Roll 1/4" thick on floured surface. Brush lightly with egg white. Cut with sharp knife small rectangles. Sprinkle with sugar then almonds. Bake on ungreased baking sheet for 11 to 15 minutes, or until verylightly brown
