Good Buns

  • 5 cups Hot water, 110F
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Sugar
  • 6 packages Yeast
  • 14 cups All-purpose flour, total
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Oil
  • Mix hot water, sugar and yeast. Add 3 cups flour, mixing well; add 2 beaten eggs, mixing well. Add oil, mixing well. Keep adding flour, mixing well after each addition, until you have you have a total of 10 cups and can no longer stir witha mixing spoon.

    Flour a large area liberally and turn the dough onto the floured surface. Knead 2 to 4 more cups into the dough, making sure to knead well. Grease 2 very large mixing bowls and turn the dough into them. Turn dough over to insure both sides are greased. Cover and let rise in a warm (80-85°) area for approximately 1 hour; punch down and allow to rise again.

    Make buns and let rise for 1 to 1 1 hours.

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and coat top with butter.

    Yield: Approximately 6 to 8 dz.
