Loaded With Chips Cookies

  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Regular oats, uncooked
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • 12 ounces Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup Shortening
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • Preheat oven to 350°.

    Beat butter and shortening at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugars, beating mixture well. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.

    Combine flour, oats,salt and soda; gradually add to butter mixture, beating well. Stir in chocolatemorsels and nuts.

    Drop by heating tsp onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8-11 minutes or until golden around edges.Remove to wire racks to cool completely.

    Yield: Approximately 6 dz.
