Texas Sheet Cake

  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 cups Flour, all-purpose
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1 cups Water
  • 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoons Baking soda
  • Icing For Sheet Cake
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 6 tablespoons Milk
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 16 oz. box Confectioner's sugar
  • Bring butter, cocoa, and water to a boil, pour over flour and sugar mixture. Add buttermilk and vanilla, mix well. Pourinto a cookie sheet, jelly roll pan. Bake for 20 min. at 400°.

    Pour icing over cake as soon as you take from oven.

    ICING Bring to boil butter, cocoa, milk, add vanilla. Beat in powdered sugar. Ice the cake as soon as you take it from oven.
