Cowboy Beans

  • 1 lb. Dry pinto beans
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. Onion powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Ham hock or fatback (optional)
  • Wash beans, making sure to check for little stones. Put in a large pot and cover with 2 1/2 to 3 inches water. Bring toa boil, then add the dry ingredients. Cover and simmer for 5 to 6 hours. These are especially good with your favorite barbecue sauce.
