Tea Cake

  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 cup SR flour
  • 1 heaped tablespoon Cornflour
  • ~ Lemon essence
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Cream butter and sugar, add egg, gradually add milk.

    Sift SR flour, cornflour and salt, add to the mixture, lastly add the .lemon essence.

    Bake for 20 minutes in a moderate oven.

    If desired when warmspread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
