Crunchy Caramel Apples

  • 4 cups Kellogg's APPLE JACKS cereal
  • 6 Wooden skewers
  • 6 medium Apples, rinsed, dried and stems removed
  • 1/2 cup Margarine or butter
  • 2 tablespoons Fat-free milk
  • 1 package (14 oz.) Caramels
  • 1. Crush KELLOGG'S APPLE JACKS (to approx 2 cups) and put in shallow pan. Insert wooden skewer into each apple at the stem end. Set aside.

    2. Place margarine, milk and caramels in small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring frequently until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

    3. Dip each apple into caramel mixture, turning to coat evenly. Quickly roll in crushed cereal to coat entire apple. Place on waxed paper. Chill until caramel coating is firm.
