Crisp Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

  • 1 cup Shortening
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Lemon extract
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually. Cream until fluffy. Add eggs , mix. Add sifted flour, baking powder, and salt. Add flavoring and water, mix well. Chill Roll out thin and cut.

    Bake on well greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees about 6 minutes.

    Makes about 10 dozen.
