Crusty Hot Biscuits

  • 2 1/4 cups Flour
  • 4 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1/3 cups Shortening
  • 2/3 cup Milk
  • 1 Eggs
  • Sift flour, powder, tartar, salt and sugar in bowl. Cut in lard to make coarse crumbs. Add milk and egg. Mix with fork.

    Place on ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake at 450º for 10-12 minutes.

    16 medium biscuits
