Hip Padders

  • 1 (12oz) pkg Chocolate chips
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 2 tablespoons Butter or margarine
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup Butter or margarine
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour -sifted
  • 2 cups Brown sugar
  • 3 cups Oats, quick-cooking
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • Make chocolate filling in double boiler- using chocolate chips, sweetened milk, 2 Tbls butter and salt. When melted add vanilla and nuts.

    Cream butter and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients. Mix with creamed mixture and oatmeal. Mix well and spread 2/3 of oatmeal mixture in a 10x15 inch pan. Top with chocolate filling. Cover with remaining oatmeal mixture. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
