Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

  • 2 cups Flour -sifted
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 2 sticks Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • FROSTING ~
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 6 tablespoons Milk
  • 6 tablespoons Cocoa
  • 3 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • Grease 10 x13 inch pan. Ina medium sized bowl , sift flour into sugar and set aside. In saucepan bring to boil: butter,cocoa, and water. Let cool slightly then pour over flour and sugar. Blend untilsmooth. Add eggs, baking soda, vanilla,and cinnamon. Mix well. Pour into greased pan. Bake at 375° for 20-25 minutes.

    FROSTING: Five minutes before cake is done, in a medium size saucepan, melt and bring to boil, butter, milk and cocoa. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Sift powder sugar into mixture, stirring after each cup is added. ( Frosting will be pourable) Pour frosting over hot baked cake.
