Cream Cheese Cutout Cookies

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 package - 8 oz Cream cheese -softened
  • 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon Almond extract
  • 3 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • In large bowl beat butter and cream cheese until blended. Add sugar, beat untilfluffy. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract, beat well.

    Mix flour and baking powder together and add the dry ingredients to cream cheese mixutre, beat until well mixed. Divide dough in half and wrap each portion in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Preheat oven 375°. Roll out dough to 1" thick, on a lightly fouredsurface. Cut with cookie cutters. Place2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minuetes or until edges begin to turn light brown. Cool completely on racks. Frost and Decorate. Makes 6-7 dozen Buttercream Decorator Frosting 1 cup butter or buttercrisco 1 lb or 4 cups powdered sugar 1 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla Blendbutter or buttercrisco, powdered sugar,mil and vanilla on lower for 15 seconds. Beat on high for 2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Frost or color and use fordecorating.
