Oatmeal Cookies

  • 1 cups Flour, all-purpose
  • 1 cups Oats, quick-cooking
  • 1 cups Sugar, granulated
  • 1 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cloves, ground
  • 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2/3 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 cups Corn oil
  • 1/2 cups Raisins ( optional )
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt
  • In a large bowl combine oats, flour , sugar, soda, spices. Stir with wooden spoon. Beat eggs into buttermilk. Add to dryingredients plus the oil. Mix well. Addraisens if desired.

Drop my tablespoonsfuls on lightly greased cookie sheet.

I do couple of test cookies . This is a very old recipe and the buttermilk textureis different than the old days. If the cookies spreads too far, add about 1 cupflour to mixture.

Bake 8-10 minutes in a 350° oven. Till very lightly brown.

Store in a airtight container with a sliceof bread and these will stay moist.
