Pies

Perfect Apple Pie

  • 6 Cups Thinly sliced, peeled apples
  • 3/4 Cups Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Flour
  • 3/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Tsp. Salt
  • 1/8 Tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice
  • I use 5 or 6 medium size Golden Delicious Red Apples and find it makes about 6 cups and are delicious for pies. Mix allingredients well. Prepare your favorite2 crust recipe or use 1 (15 oz.) pkg Pillsbury Refrigerated Pie Crusts according to the 2 crust directions on package. Add filling. Cover with top pie crust. Brush top pie crust with a little egg white and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bakeat 405° for 55 to 60 minutes. Baking pie at a slightly lower heat and a few minutes longer than most apple pie recipes ensures the apples are cooked thoroughly.
