Roasted Luscious Pears

  • 4 LUSCIOUS DESSERT PEARS
  • 4 tablespoons Butter, unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar (Bakers, if possible)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons Riesling WINE (late harvest)
  • 1 pinch Cloves
  • 1 pinch Anise seed
  • 1 pkg Pastry Puff - frozen
  • 1 pint Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • ~ Whipping Cream/Berries-Optional
  • SERVES 4 Preheat oven to 350° F.

    Thaw 1sheet of Pastry Puff & cut into 4 squares. Cut approx. 1" in from both sides, leaving opposing corners uncut, to fold over each other to result in a well in the center after cooking. Coat baking pan with PAM spray, place prepared puffs on pan, brush top wgg wash & bake for approx. 15 minutes. Remove and let cool In saucepan simmer Wine, Annis, Cinnamon, Clove, Butter & Sugar for 20 - 30 minutes.

    Peel, core & cut Pears. Add to simmeringmixture and cook until just starting toget tender. DO NOT OVERCOOK !! Place small scoop of Ice Cream in well of prepared Pastry Puff and with spoon cover withpear mixture. Garnish with dab of Whipping Cream & Berries if desired for a dramatic presentation!
