Caramel Popcorn

  • 2 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1/2 cup Light corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 5 quarts Popcorn
  • Heat oven to 250 degrees. Mix together brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Heat to boiling. Boil 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add soda and vanilla. Stiruntil mixture puffs up and turns caramel color. Pour over popcorn. Bake for onehour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spreadout on wax paper. Makes 5 quarts of caramel corn.
