Basic White Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • Microwave Med High. 7 minutes. Makes about 1 cup.

    In small glass bowl, heat butter 1/2 to 3/4 minute on med high. Or until melted. Stir in flour and salt.

    Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth. Heat 5 to 6 minutes on med high. Until sauce is thickened. Stirring occasionally.

    VARIATIONS; 1/2-3/4 cup cheese. Heat 1 minute on med if necessary to melt cheese.

    Mustard sauce; 2 T prepared mustardand Worchestire sauce.
