Chocolate Sheet Cake

  • 2 cups Sugar, granulated
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1/3 cup Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) Margarine
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Combine sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in large mixing bowl. Mix well.

    Heat margarine and water in saucepan until boiling. Pour over dry ingredientsand mix. Beat on buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. Pour thin batter in greased and floured 15x10" pan. Bake in 400 degree oven 20 minutes. Serve warm or cold.

    Makes 18 servings.

    Frosting. 1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine 1/4 cup cocoa 6 tablespoonsmilk 4 cups powdered sugar 1 cup chopped walnuts Combine margaring, cocoa, and milk, heat to boiling. Pour over sugar and nuts. Mix well. Spread onto hot cake.
