Junie's Turtles

  • 1 pound Pecan halves
  • 1 pound Caramels
  • 1 package Milk Chocolate for candy
  • 1 package White chocolate for candy
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
  • This is an easy candy recipe to get thewhole family involved in.

    We peel the caramels and melt them in a big bowl in the microwave. I usually add a couple tablespoons of milk to soften the caramel.

    Lay pecan halves and pieces on wax papermaking a body, legs, head, and even a tail. Drizzle caramel over the turtle bodies.

    Melt chocolate according to packagedirections. Cover caramel and most of the pecan with chocolate. Let sit for a few hours to harden and package.

    I have also heard you can microwave a square of caramel on top of the pecans for a quciker, less messy version of this recipe.
