Apple Pandowdy

  • ~ Juice from 1 lemon
  • 6 Tart apples, peeled, cored & sliced
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • Pinch Nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ~ Grated lemon peel
  • ~ Biscuit dough
  • Pour lemon juice over apples. Gentle toss apples in sugar, spices, and grated lemon rind.

    Butter a 1-1/2-quart baking dish and put in the apples. Cover with 1-inch thick biscuit dough. Cut a couple of small holes in the center of biscut top.

    Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 350º degrees or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.

    Makes 6 servings
