Calzone Dough

  • 1 pkg Yeast, Dry Active
  • 1 cup warm Water
  • 2 1/2 -3 cups sifted Flour, All Purpose
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • Put warm water in a large bowl and sprinkle yeast over water; let dissolve 5 minutes. Stir in 1 cup flour, sugar, salt, and oil.

    Beat 3 mintues. Continue adding flour, 1/2 cup at a time and beating well after each addition, until stiff, soft dough is formed. This will take about antoher 1 3/4 cups. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead until it is smooth, elastic and not sticky. Adding more flour if necessary, knead for about 10 minutes.

    Put dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease all sides. Cover bowl and let rise in a warm place until double in size. apx 1 hour.

    While dough is rising, prepare filling.
