Oriental Swiss Steak

  • 2 poundS Round steak, 3/4 inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 can (10.5oz) Beef consume'
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1/2 pound Fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large Onion, cut in 8 wedges
  • 1 large Tomato cut in 8 wedges
  • ~ Flour for gravy
  • Trim excess fat from steak. Combine flour, ginger, paprika, garlic salt and pepper. Pound mixture into steak, until allis used. Brown meat in oil. Add consume' and soy sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Add mushrooms, onion and tomato. Cover and cook an additional 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Remove steak, thicken sauce with flour and serve with steak.
