Applesauce Cake

  • 1/2 cup Shortening
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Raisins
  • 1 cup Nuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground cloves
  • 1 cup Sweetened applesauce
  • Cream shortning and sugar; add eggs. Combine flour, soda and spices; stir into creamed

    mixture. Mix in applesauce. Combine nuts and raisins with a little flour, stir into batter.

    Pour into greased 9X13 or bundt pan, bake 350 for 35-45 minutes, or until tests done.
