Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 3 1/4 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 cups Butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cups Vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 1 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tablespoons Milk
  • 3 tablespoons Corn syrup
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cups Nuts, chopped, if desired
  • Cream butter and shortning together. Gradually add sugars, and cream together.Mix in eggs, vanilla, milk, corn syrup.Blend in flour, salt, and baking soda. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfulls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake 350 for 7-10 minutes, or until golden brown. Cookies should have a slight dimple when touched. Cool on sheet before removing. Makes 4 doz.
