Applesauce Drop Doughnuts

  • 3 tablespoons Butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cups Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cups Applesauce
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 4 1/2 cups Flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 1/4 cups Milk
  • ~ Vegetable oil
  • ~ Cinnamon and sugar
  • Cream butter and sugar, add eggs, beating after each one. Beat in applesauce and vanilla, add baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt. Add milk and flour alternately. Batter will be thick. Heat oil to 375. Drop by teaspoonfulls into hot oil,fry until golden brown, turning to cookon all sides. Drain on paper towels. Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture while still warm.
