Apple Streusel Coffee Cake

  • 1 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 cups Apples, green, peeled, chopped
  • 1 cups Nuts, chopped
  • 1/4 cups Flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons Margarine, melted
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 cups Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoons Baking soda
  • 1/2 cups Margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cups Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1/3 cups Orange juice
  • 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons Orange juice
  • In medium bowl combine the first 6 ingredients, set aside. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and baking soda; mix well. In large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar untilfluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add vanilla andcinnamon. Set mixer to low, alternatelybeat flour mixture and orange juice into egg mixture. Spoon half the batter into greased tube pan. Sprinkle with half of the streusel mixture. Spoon the remaining batter over the steusel, spreading to make an even layer. Swirl batter with a knife to make a marble pattern. Bake 350 for 15 min. Remove cake from oven; sprinkle top with remaining steusel topping. Return to oven and bake 30-35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. cool completely and invert on to platter, turn cake over so streusel is on top. For glaze combine powdered sugar and 2 1/2tsp orange juice. Drizzle glaze over cake.
