Caramels
Mix sugar, sryup and butter; stir and beat slowly until sugar is dissolved overmedium heat (about 10 min). Add 1 tsp.vinegar. Cook to soft ball. Remove from heat and slowly add condensed milk. Put back on heat and stir constantly to firm ball (about 25-30 min). Add nuts if desired. Pour onto well greased platter or pan. Cut when cool into 1" squares.
