Charlie's Chili

  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 large Onions, minced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 pounds Ground beef
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 1/3 cups Tomatos, crushed
  • 1 Green pepper, diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 small Bay leafs
  • 2 tablespoons Chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon Basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • Saute onions, garlic, green pepper in butter. Add ground beef and cook till meat is brown; drain. Add remaining ingredients and simmer uncovered for 3 hrs.
