Banana Nut Loaf

  • 3 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Margarine
  • 4 Eggs
  • 4 cups Flour
  • Medium Bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup Nuts, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons Butter extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons Baking soda
  • Cream sugar, oleo and eggs. Mix well, add vanilla and extract, add baking sodaand flour, add alternately with buttermilk. Add bananas and nuts.

    Bake in 2 greased and floured 8" loaf pans at 300° for 1 1/2 hours or toothpick comes out clean.

    I substitute vanilla for the butter extract so that makes 4 tsp. vanilla.

    To make buttermilk, use milk and add vinegar.
