Navy Bean Soup
Soak beans overnight in water to cover (or, bring to boil over medium heat, boil for 3 min., then cover and simmer on low for 20 min.).
Next day, add chopped onion, carrots, hambone. Simmer 3-4 hrs. (crockpot 6-8 hrs.) until broth beginsto thicken. Remove ham from bone and chop, returning to pot. Add herbs and simmer another 2 hrs., stirring occasionally.
