Barbecued Chicken
Microwave Oven Directions: Place chicken, skin side down, in a glass baking dish. Arrange pieces so that the thickerportions are to the outer edge of the dish and the thinner portions, such as the wings, are facing the center. Pour barbecue sauce over chicken. Cover dish with wax paper and cook on high for 15 minutes. Turn chicken skin side up and spoon sauce over top. Sprinkle envelope of onion soup mix over top of chicken. Cover with wax paper and cook on high setting for 10 to 12 minutes longer, or until tender.
Crock Pot Directions: Placechicken in crock pot and pour barbecue sauce over top. Sprinkle on onion soup mix. Cover and cook on low setting for 5 to 7 hours.
Conventional Directions:Place chicken, skin side down, in a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Halfway through cooking time, turn chicken skin side up and spoon sauce over top. Sprinkle on onion soup mix. Chicken may also be cooked by broilingover hot coals or under broiler. Turn chicken at least once and baste frequently with Barbecue Sauce. Total cooking time is about 30 to 45 minutes.
