Auntie Judy's No-fail Pie Crust

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 2/3 cups Shortening
  • 1/4 cups Water
  • In medium bowl mix flour and salt together. Mix in shortening until you get pea size bits. Take out 1/3 cup of mixture and mix with water to make paste. Mixwith flour and shortening mixture to make dough. If it is not sticking together, you can add a little more water a teaspoon at a time . Drape towel over bowland let sit in fridge for about an hour.

To make crust, flour counter well. Break off a little more than half of the dough for the bottom. The crust may be crumbly. If it is just roll lightly withflour.

This recipe was given to me by Auntie Judy when I was first married and I have never used any other. Don't give up if you have problems at first. This crust is great.
