Cookies

Chocolate Pecan Chews

  • 14 oz can Sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 ounces Unsweetened chocolate
  • Pinch Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Pecans, broken
  • 1. Preheat oven to 325°. Line baking sheets with foil; grease foil generously. In top of double boiler, combine condensed milk and chocolate. Place over boiling water on medium heat . Cook until mixture thickens, about 6 minutes, stiring frequently. Stir in salt, vanilla and pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls on to well greased fiol lined sheets about 2 inches apart.

    2. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until edges BEGIN to turn brown, watching carefully to avoid burning. Cookies will be very soft, but will become firm as they cool. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet, then carefully remove to racks to cool completely.

    Makes 48 1-1/4 inch cookies.
