Aunt Catherine's Sugar Cookies
1. Preheat oven to 400°. Sift together on to waxed paper the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside...
2. In large bowl, cream butter with an electric mixeruntil fluffy. Add vanilla and sugar, beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add the sifted flour mixture, stirring onlytill the dough is throughly mixed.
3. Divide dough in half, form into patties, wrap, chill 3-4 hours.
4. Roll out dough on floured surface. Cut with cutters and decorate. Place on greased bakingsheet.
5. Bake 8-12 minutes or till LIGHTLY brown. Using wide spatula, transfer to racks to cool.
